Two Gardens (2026) is an illustrated essay that begins in Hannah Höch's overgrown garden in Heiligensee and travels via my own to muse on the possibilities and affinities between collage and horticultural grafting. Both depend on interruption: cutting, joining and reassembling, inviting us to think about what might become possible in the in-between. The essay also considers questions of rootedness, belonging and concealment, and the possibilities of living otherwise under hostile conditions.

Featuring beautiful illustrations by Emily Fratson, Two Gardens is a collaboratively made publication, with each copy featuring a unique hole-punched cover.
